Fiona Green is a proud pakana woman, whose family hails from tayaritja (Furneaux Islands, Tasmania). She is a direct descendant of mannalargena, bangana of the pairebeena Clan. Learning the rare art of kanalaritja (Shell Necklace) stringing by Aunty maikutena Vicki-Laine Green, the process of passing this significant tradition on within family has been imperative for the continuation of culture. Aunty Vicki has also taught Fiona to weave tirrina (Native Grass Basket) and rikawa (bull kelp basket). Her love and passion for her culture is evident in the quality of her products and teaching others about the rich histories of her people.
