Ann Howe designs and creates wheel thrown and hand built functional and decorative ceramics in her studio in Inner West Sydney. Every piece is completely unique and explores the ideas of nurture, community, and sharing in daily life. Ann is drawn to the endless possibilities that clay represents and also to the connection that happens when a piece of clay shaped and fired to become a become a beautifully formed vessel that becomes a part of someone's daily life.
Ann's work focuses on simple, uncluttered forms, made from mid fire porcelain or warm buff clay and glazed in glaze combinations inspired by Australian land and seascapes. She enjoys combining glazes to create unique effects and colour ways. All her pieces are designed to be mixed and matched to create interesting table scapes.
