Kaz Davis’s work is a response to the coastal and industrial landscapes of Bidjigal land (Sydney) where she lives and works. For Davis, weathered and decaying surfaces have a poignant emotional resonance that connects with the impermanence of life. The complex surfaces of her work evoke these themes as layers of engobes, pigments, and glazes meld inside the kiln.
