Lucy Simpson is a Yuwaalaraay woman (northwest New South Wales) currently living in Sydney. She is the founder of design studio Gaawaa Miyay (river daughter) Designs. Through her contemporary work in design, Lucy uses visual narratives to connect, share and celebrate aspects of language story, country and contemporary Aboriginal culture. Founded in 1988, Corban & Blair was born out of an idea to work creatively, designing and manufacturing a range of engaging, innovative and continually evolving marketing, presentation and gift products. Co-founders and cousins Gillian and Amanda carefully select their materials and techniques. They frequently collaborate with established artists, including Lucy Simpson.
