Designed by glass artists Lisa Cahill and Peter Nilsson, the Australian Native Paperweight series is a distinctive addition to the CGW Signature range. Each piece features Peter Nilsson’s intricate drawings of iconic Australian flora and fauna magnified within hand cast glass from the Glassworks Hotshop.

Situated in the historic Kingston Power House, Canberra Glassworks mission is to increase the visibility, viability and vitality of Australian glass by being an engaging and valued centre for art, craft and design within the Australian cultural landscape. The organisation provides artists with state-of-the-art equipment; intensive workshops taught by leading glass artists; studios and residency programs; with a unique context to explore, develop and realise new work.
Lisa Cahill is an established artist specialising in kiln formed and cold worked glass. Within her artistic practice, she manipulates light to reveal an intensity of colour and evoking notions of an ephemeral landscape. Swedish born Peter Nilsson is an established glass artist specialising in cold worked glass now based in Canberra. Deciding to become a glass engraver at the age of seven, Peter is internationally renowned as a master cold worker with over thirty years’ experience.
