Combining natural materials including timber and sea kelp with the man-made processes of steel manipulation and metalsmithing, Dominic explores the conversation of materiality as a visual language for addressing First Nations identity within the context of a post-colonial reality. Although his work unearths ugly truths about Australia and the irreversible ways in which country and waters have been altered, he highlights the beauty that can still exist within these natural and manmade worlds.
