This range of spoons explore the tension between the beginner and the expert craftsperson; perfection and error; a bespoke craft and mass production. These unique objects are beautiful to look at, but are also functional. Being hand-made, each solid silver spoon is unique.

Josephine de Monchaux fell into jewellery making, with no knowledge of the technical, creative and emotional challenges of the craft. Having been generally fascinated by “lost” and “traditional” trades, she was keen to embrace a generations old, hands-on skill. Quickly realising her area of interest was object making in metal, she is always working to learn and apply traditional skills to a range of functional objects.
